DEAR MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST,

As society moves forward with the reopening of public spaces, we must ensure that the Diocese of Charleston does all that it can to provide for your spiritual needs and welcome you
home. Our primary goal is to approach the lifted restrictions with great care, keeping the safety of all our parishioners and our clergy at the forefront of our decision-making.

Following are the precautions and restrictions for attending Mass. If anyone is ill, or suspects he or she is ill, they should refrain from participation in public activities, including Mass. Those who are homebound may watch weekly Sunday Mass online at http://www.sgg.cc/mass-live-stream.html. Both parishioners and priest are encourage to wear face masks. During mass refrain from shaking hands during the Sign of Peace (bow or verbal gesture is appropriate) and holding hands during the Lord’s Prayer. To receive Communion, stand in a single line and please keep a distance of six feet from the person in front. We highly recommend receiving Holy Eucharist in hand. During this time we will cease distribution of the Precious Blood (Christ is fully present under both species of the Blessed Sacrament). Upon arrival parishioners will be ushered to the designated pews with a 6' distance between the family and next parishioners. First parishioners arriving will be ushered to the front of the church and fill in the rest of the seating areas as more enter. After mass, parishioners will be ushered out of the church starting at the back pew working towards the front.

Although we will do all we can to provide a safe environment, the risk of contracting COVID-19
will still exist. Therefore, Bishop Guglielmone is still granting dispensation to those who are
uncomfortable attending weekend Mass and those who are high risk until further notice.

The schedule of daily and weekend Masses, and other devotions, is as follows:

My dear friends, this is a time where our beliefs are an asset and a true blessing.  We need look no further than the Resurrection to find the ultimate story of faith, hope and love. May we all continue to invite Christ into our hearts, even as they ache.  Remain hopeful, pray unceasingly, and be assured of my prayers for you and your families.

In the Lord’s Peace,

Most Rev. Robert E. Guglielmone
